There are many people who have made internationally popular the San Fermin festival in Pamplona but, no doubt, Ernest Hemingway is one of the most prominent. He was a fervent admirer of the famous Pamplona "running of the bulls", to which he came annually for several years his life, and to which he devoted one of his most memorable novels: "the Sun Also Rises".
Therefore, for many years one of the most iconic symbols of San Fermin is the image of Hemingway in white with a red scarf.
